This is a family based web site to display our art. It will contain mainly the work of the Old Man himself but from time to time I hope to include the rest of the family.

The Old Man I first started playing with art back in the 60's in a good old secondary modern school situated in the centre of the British Midlands. It had four excellent art rooms and a group of very skilled art teachers. At 50 I started again not having touched art since school; it was a great way to reduce stress in a pressured job. I joined night classes at the local community college and became a member of local arts clubs. I would recommend anyone taking up art again to use this route. It has given me the lift I required. Night class teachers and pupils are always friendly and supportive people, as are most people with a passion for art. I include pastel, watercolour, digital and mixed media in my portfolio. |
My influences are Charles Reid-a fantastic free watercolourist. Turner, say no more, and a pastelist from the seventies Joe Singer but I admire so so many others that I could fill this whole page. I know what I like and have been brought to near tears in art galleries on many occasions. The main reason in creating this website is to try and ensure that our art, good or bad, does not go by completely unnoticed. Also If you do wish to start painting these paintings from the last four years show the progression a armature has made. I hope it gives you faith in yourself to have a go.
